A recent incident at a popular pop-up bar in Kansas City has garnered widespread attention after a video went viral, showcasing patrons stepping in to thwart an alleged attack by a man wielding a knife. The Kansas City Police Department reported that officers arrived at the scene just before midnight on December 14, responding to a call about a disturbance at the bar.

Upon arrival, the police found that both patrons and employees had taken matters into their own hands, using bar stools and other pieces of furniture to subdue the individual. The man, identified in court documents as 37-year-old Rustam Huseinov, had been previously removed from the premises for allegedly biting a bar worker.

The bar released a statement detailing the events, noting that Huseinov returned after his removal, brandishing a knife and threatening to kill people. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and police successfully apprehended him.

A video of the confrontation quickly made its way onto social media, where it captured the attention of millions. The clip, which shows several men hurling bar stools at Huseinov, was praised by many for the patrons’ bravery and quick thinking. One particular post of the video amassed over 3.5 million views, highlighting the public’s interest in the dramatic event.

Huseinov now faces multiple charges, including three felony counts of armed criminal action, one felony count of second-degree assault, and one felony count of first-degree terrorist threat. He is currently held at the Jackson County Detention Center with a bond set at $75,000.

In response to the incident, the bar has announced measures to enhance security.
“Moving forward, we will add additional security and off duty police officers to reinforce that the safety of our patrons and employees is our top priority,” the establishment stated.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and the quick actions that can prevent potential tragedies.
