Dramatic Georgia Police Chase Ends with Armed Robbery Arrest
In a dramatic police pursuit captured on video in Georgia, law enforcement officers were seen taking decisive action to stop a female armed robbery suspect. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Jenee Johnson, was reportedly involved in the theft of a cell phone from an elderly woman.
The chase began when the Atlanta Police Department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit collaborated with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to locate the suspect and her vehicle. Officers tracked down Johnson at a car wash, where she attempted to evade capture.
Video footage shows officers confronting Johnson, with one officer drawing his gun and instructing her, “hands up!” and “don’t drive away!” Despite these commands, Johnson managed to back out of the car wash bay, initiating a high-speed pursuit.
The chase continued onto Interstate 285, where officers employed a precision immobilization technique (PIT maneuver) to bring the pursuit to an end. The maneuver involved a patrol vehicle striking the left bumper of Johnson’s car, causing it to spin out of control and come to a halt along the freeway divider.
In a surprising turn of events, Johnson exited her vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, leaping over the freeway divider. However, police officers were quick to respond, surrounding her and taking her into custody.
Johnson faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by receiving stolen property, and fleeing or attempting to elude police. She was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first-offender probationer.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was responsible for the arrest, and Johnson now awaits further legal proceedings. This incident highlights the swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement in apprehending suspects and ensuring public safety.

why is it so hard to keep these repeat offenders, in a cage (jail) somewhere, OUT of the public?
