A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in Minden, Louisiana, involving a 10-year-old boy and the deaths of a former local leader and his daughter. Authorities were alerted around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday and arrived at a residence to discover the bodies of Joe Cornelius Sr., 82, and his 31-year-old daughter, Keisha Miles. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The young boy was reportedly brought to the police station by a guardian, where he allegedly confessed to the fatal shootings.

The police have not disclosed the boy’s identity or his relationship to Cornelius and Miles. Additionally, the circumstances leading to the tragic event remain unclear as investigators continue their work.

Neighbors recounted hearing about eight gunshots following an argument between Cornelius and the boy, reportedly over credit card charges for video games.

Minden Police Chief Jared McIver noted that the boy has shown no remorse for the alleged killings.

Minden Mayor Nick Cox took to social media to honor Joe Cornelius Sr. for his years of dedication to the community.

“Joe Cornelius’s years of service to Minden were marked by his commitment and dedication to the betterment of our community,” Cox wrote.

He also expressed personal gratitude for Cornelius’s support and friendship, urging the public to keep the family in their prayers.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to piece together the details of this heartbreaking event.

Make a video of life in prison, the restrictions, violence and loneliness and show it beginning in middle school. Make it a mandatory viewing.

WHO owned the firearm? That’s the person who should be held responsible. If you own guns, you are responsible for a minor or anyone else who gets their hands on said firearm. It’s up to you to keep that weapon under lock & key. Once again, irresponsible gun ownership causes a problem.

How did a 10 year old have access to a gun? Was it left out for him to use? If so, he took advantage of it. Keep it locked vied up and he has no access to it.

GOD ordained capital punishment in Genesis 9:6. no one fears death or punishment because the liberal gov’t. is corrupt. Guns NEVER act alone, yet they get the blame? This is stupidity on display
