Daylight Carjackers Unleash Terror, Family Leaps from Vehicle to Safety
Caught in the frightening grip of daylight carjacking, a family in Jackson, Mississippi endured a horrifying ordeal, caught on a doorbell camera. The suspects, nonchalantly approached the family that was engaged in their farewells in the driveway, opening fire and creating a scene of terrifying chaos.
Heather Allen, a victim, recollected the experience, “I threw my hands up like, ‘Hey, hey, hey,’ and he just pulled me down.” The ruthless carjacker wasn’t deterred by the presence of family members. Trapped on the outside, Allen watched helplessly as one of the criminals pointed a gun at her oldest son’s face.
Stationed outside the car, Allen’s daughter, two grandchildren, and her oldest son were still in the vehicle during the crime. The video reveals one of the assailants opening the driver’s door and dragging out Allen’s daughter.
Allen remembered the constant shouts of, “Give me the keys, give me the keys.” Her daughter cried out, fearing for her children still in the car. In another heart-wrenching recollection, Allen said, “He jumps in the driver’s seat, I’m standing on the outside looking in, and he points a gun at my oldest boy’s face.”
Allen’s son managed to escape the vehicle, allowing her to rescue her grandchildren from the backseat amidst the panic. Despite the commotion, the carjackers were unable to get the car moving.
Allen described the ongoing trauma, saying, “I’m not sleeping. My oldest son, his anxiety is through the roof — he’s even scared. My daughter, she has shock, but they’re safe.”
In a twist of events, the criminals abandoned the car in the driveway and sped off in Allen’s car, which was parked on the lawn. The family has decided to leave Jackson, having called it home only for a short span of three months.
“We can’t stay here anymore,” Allen told WAPT.
The police recovered Allen’s car two blocks away from the crime scene, just 40 minutes post the incident. The car is currently in the impound lot awaiting investigation for fingerprints.
Police Chief Joseph Wade expressed his concern, stating, “I had an opportunity to look at the video of Ms. Allen and her family being robbed and carjacked in their driveway. It was extremely disturbing to me. It was very concerning to me because a threat to them and their family is a threat to everyone.”
Two persons of interest have been identified in the case but are yet to be apprehended. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.

Stricter gun control helps nothing. Criminals do not care about laws, that is what they do naturally.
