In a shocking turn of events, Florida law enforcement officers believe they have discovered the remains of a woman who was brutally carjacked in broad daylight. The horrifying incident took place in Seminole County, situated in the central region of the state. According to NBC News, the woman had contacted her husband only moments before, claiming she had the eerie suspicion she was being stalked.

Katherine Aguasvivas, a 31-year-old woman, is said to have been halted at a traffic light in her white Dodge Durango when a masked man brandishing a firearm forced his entry into her vehicle. Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma shared his belief, as per the report, that the intruder was cloaked in a ski mask and might have been wielding an automatic handgun.

A nearby bystander managed to film the horrifying ordeal on their cellphone. The footage unveiled the armed man pressuring Aguasvivas before she finally gave in and allowed him to enter her car. Reports reveal that the assaulter disembarked from a green Acura before advancing towards Aguasvivas’s Durango.

“Sheriff Lemma noted, “She makes a U-turn at that intersection, probably heading, speculation here, but probably heading in a direction where the suspect does not want them to go and we suspect that he orders her to turn around again and re-approach the intersection.”

After the assailant intruded into the woman’s vehicle, it abruptly carried out a U-turn, with the green Acura tailing behind. As per the report, it is suggested that the incident involved at least two victims.

Nearly two hours after the dreadful scene unfolded, authorities received a distress call about a flaming vehicle. Sheriff Lemma highlighted the extent of the damage, stating that the car was so severely burnt that “you could not positively identify” it.

A body was discovered inside the incinerated vehicle, assumed to be that of Aguasvivas. However, the formal identification process necessitates consulting DNA and dental records before the authorities can solidify their claims, according to a subsequent report.

In addition to the recovered body, investigators discovered a total of twelve shell casings scattered at the scene.

Contrary to the seemingly random nature of the incident, law enforcement officers are convinced it was not a chance occurrence, asserting that the culprits “knew exactly who they were following.”

Sheriff Lemma stated, “We are again still putting together to try to explain a motive.” He further added, “There’s a lot of unknowns, a lot of things that will leave people scratching your head. Why did she and her husband not call 911? I don’t know. Why did she stop at the red light? There’s a lot of things that we’ll absolutely never know, but this is a tragic incident nevertheless.”
