Armed Burglars Strike Reality Star’s Hollywood Home Overnight
Joey Zauzig, the 31-year-old reality TV star, and online influencer, recently took to social media to share the terrifying ordeal of an attempted burglary at his home in Hollywood Hills.
He expressed feelings of violation and fear, describing the experience as one that left him “sick to his stomach.”
“Last night, at around 12 a.m., three men armed with face masks broke into our house while we were sleeping. I woke up to it and triggered the alarm as they shattered one of the glass doors,” Zauzig shared with his followers on Instagram.
This harrowing encounter was captured on surveillance footage from Zauzig’s property, showing three individuals with their faces covered, prowling towards his home. Upon shattering a glass door, the intruders activated the alarm, awakening both Zauzig and his husband.
“We didn’t know if they were still in the house, we were, like, so freaked out, I was like screaming ‘Help!’ from the balcony,” Zauzig revealed in his recount of the incident.
After the alarm was triggered, Zauzig made an immediate call to the police. However, the perpetrators fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. Despite the swift response, which included the deployment of two helicopters, the criminals managed to escape.
“It was truly one of the scariest things ever and seeing the footage on our cameras and waking up to it,” he continued, “I’m still very much in shock.”
Zauzig also shared an image of a vehicle that appeared to be a red Dodge Challenger, believed to be the burglars’ getaway car. The ordeal left both him and his husband feeling “completely violated” and “sick to our stomachs.”
Their pets were fortunately away at a training camp and remained unharmed. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the attempted robbery and making efforts to identify the three individuals.
“Now, I’m like at a point where I’m just, like, angry,” Zauzig expressed his frustration over the incident.
Known for his role in the LGBTQ+ reality show “The Real Friends of WeHo” aired on MTV, Zauzig has a significant online following boasting 459,000 Instagram followers.
“Now, I’m angry. These people are disgusting and sick,” he shared, expressing his revulsion at the attempted burglars.
“I’m just wondering when I’m gonna feel back to normal because I definitely don’t, and a lot of messages are unfortunately from people that have gone through the same thing.”

Who? Never heard of whatever it is. Violation came when his husband did. The cops won’t do anything, get armed, train, and take care of business! Alarms don’t shoot intruders! QIUT SAYING “LIKE”!
